What Homeowners Should Do to Prepare for a House Wash
Getting your home professionally washed is one of the easiest ways to improve curb appeal and protect your siding. The good news is you don’t need to do much to get ready. A few simple steps help the job go smoothly and make sure your property stays safe during the process.
Here’s what we recommend before Spa City Softwash arrives.
Close All Windows and Doors
This is the most important step. Soft washing uses water and a gentle cleaning solution, so any open window can let moisture inside. Double-check basement windows, garage service doors, and second-story windows you might not use often.
Move Vehicles Away From the House
We’ll be working all the way around your home with hoses and equipment. Please park cars, trucks, and boats at least 15–20 feet away from the siding. This gives our crew room to work and prevents any overspray from reaching your vehicle.
Clear the Perimeter
If possible, move items that sit directly against the house, such as:
• Patio furniture
• Grills
• Planters
• Kids’ toys
• Door mats
• Decorative items
You don’t need to empty the yard — just anything tight to the foundation that could block access to the siding.
Turn Off Exterior Electronics
Unplug or switch off outdoor speakers, cameras, and sensitive electrical items near the siding. We’re careful around these areas, but it’s best to remove power as an extra precaution.
Let Us Know About Any Concerns
Every home is a little different. Tell us if you have:
• Recently painted areas
• Loose siding
• Older windows
• Delicate landscaping
• Stains you’re especially worried about
A quick heads-up helps us tailor the process to your property.
Do You Need to Be Home?
No. As long as we have access to water and the steps above are taken care of, you don’t need to be there. We’ll send updates when we arrive and when the job is finished, and payment can be handled online.
What We Handle on Our End
Our crew takes care of the rest:
• Pre-soaking plants and landscaping
• Using low-pressure soft wash methods on siding
• Rinsing all vegetation after cleaning
• Walking the property for a final quality check
The goal is simple: leave your home cleaner and your property exactly as we found it.
