How to Prepare Your Home for a House Wash
A little preparation goes a long way in making sure your house wash goes smoothly and delivers the best possible results.
The good news? Most prep takes 10–15 minutes and helps us work efficiently while protecting your home and property.
Here’s exactly what we recommend before we arrive.
Move Items Away From the House
Please move any items that are directly against or very close to the home, including:
Patio furniture
Grills
Planters
Toys
Decorative items
This gives us clear access to the siding and helps prevent anything from being accidentally bumped or splashed.
Close All Windows and Doors
Before we arrive, double-check that:
Windows are fully closed
Doors are shut securely
While our process uses low pressure, water is still involved, and sealed windows help prevent moisture intrusion.
Secure Pets
For everyone’s safety, please:
Keep pets inside during the service
Or secure them away from the work area
This helps us move efficiently and prevents stress for your pets.
Protect Sensitive Outdoor Items
If you have items you’re concerned about — such as:
Delicate plants
Outdoor electronics
Decorative lighting
Feel free to let us know ahead of time. We’re happy to take extra precautions where needed.
You Do Not Need to Be Home
Most homeowners are not home during their house wash.
As long as we have:
Access to the exterior
Clear prep completed
Windows closed
Access to water supply
Vehicles moved away from the home
We can take care of everything and notify you when the job is complete.
What Not to Worry About
You don’t need to:
Cover plants or grass
Pre-rinse anything
Provide electricity
Move heavy items you’re unsure about
We handle landscaping protection and job setup as part of our process.
Final Reminder
Preparing your home helps us:
